Alpine Elk Ranch strives to educate the public about the health benefits of Elk Velvet Antler (EVA). Alpine Elk Ranch was founded by Norman Browne in 1997 in the pristine mountains of Northern Idaho. The ranch has since turned into a family business that is run and operated by Norman, his four children, as well as help from his grandchildren. Having so many helping hands, the elk are able to receive personal attention on a daily basis. The ranch is designed to enable rotational grazing on natural foliage in various paddocks (a fenced grazing field) during the warmer months. These paddocks also give the elk ample room to roam while in search of foliage. To offset the lack of foliage during cold months, the elk are fed locally grown alfalfa. They are also given vitamin and supplement (naturally designed for elk) and fed whole grains and other high protein foods in the spring when the cows are lactating and the bulls are rapidly growing antlers. To provide a healthily natural meat, Alpine Elk does not use steroids, antibiotics, hormones, or chemical sprays of any kind. We also adhere to every industry regulation and standard on state and federal levels, as well as participate in genetically beneficial breeding. We raise Roosevelt Elk the largest elk species in the United States for their flavorful meat and have incorporated Rocky Mountain Elk in the last five (5) years for their sizable antlers to use in our new Elk Velvet Antler products.
