Amputees in Action Ltd is the UK's largest provider of Amputee Actors, Role Players and Special Effects Make-up Artists (Sfx) for simulated training exercises. The company boasts a vast portfolio of clients including the Tri-services, Government Agencies, Independent Training Companies, Hospitals and Industries requiring Trauma Management Courses. The company is currently the sub-contractor to SERCO who hold the current Pre-Deployment Contract for role players, COEFOR, with the MOD. In 2012 Amputees in Action Ltd were successful in bidding for the Casualty Simulation contract with the National Ambulance Resilience Unit and Norwegian Government. Having such a large portfolio of actors and Sfx artists has enabled the company to confidently support exercises with teams as small as one person to thirty five, the latter constituting thirty amputees and five Sfx artists. Due to requests from our clients, Amputees in Action Ltd is delivering a new service, that of CASSIM Training Courses. The company is fortunate to have two qualified instructors one of which is a Paramedic, who had nine years' experience as a Combat Medic in the Army. The second person has over twelve years' experience in Special Effects with a portfolio that covers all areas of Makeup. The combination of medical experience and Special Effects lends to a symbiotic relationship leading to a course that is specifically geared to Casualty Simulation, from the injuries to products used with careful consideration given within the confinement of funding and budgets restraints. The courses are also bespoke, gearing towards the requirement of the end user.
