Andersson Wines International, LLC has imported wine to Sweden since 2004. Our wine portfolio is made up of products from new attractive viticultural areas as well as classic wine regions. Our producers are located in California, Oregon and Finger Lakes New York. Our goal is to introduce and market quality regional wineries from new emerging viticultural areas combined with quality wine from classic regions. As an importer we are excited to market new and interesting products that are fun for both serious wine drinkers as well as beginners. The Swedish Alcohol Market The Swedish government has a monopoly on all alcohol sales to private consumers. Alcoholic beverages are sold through their stores called Systembolaget. There are currently 420 stores all over Sweden. Their inventory is updated continuosly through monthly tenders. All importers are encouraged to respond to these tenders in writing. Samples are then selected from the written responses and after a blind tasting the wine(s) that score the highest are purchased. Tenders are country, region, grape, price and production method specific. Andersson Wines works with Systembolaget and their tender system. We also work with the Swedish restaurant market and sell directly to select restaurants. The restaurant market is open to all importers and sales to restaurants can be done directly without involvement by the government monopoly.
