Fine artist, designer and writer, Anna Ruth Henriques, creates a poetic collection of wearable art in her eponymous jewelry line. Painted and sculpted, using 18k, silver, semi and precious stones, her work is imbued with spiritual meaning as well as intrinsic worth. Her distinctly whimsical sensibilities derive from her homeland, Jamaica, as well as her diverse ethnicities. The artist's ancestors hail from Spain, Portugal, West Africa, Ireland and China. Anna Ruth Henriques uses recycled metals, conflict-free diamonds, and custom-cut semi-precious stones from fair trade/fair wage suppliers. She makes her work, proudly, in New York City. A portion of proceeds is donated annually to Sustainable Harvest International, aimed at teaching people to live sustainably and harmoniously with the Earth.
