"APPSOC" is the governing body for the undergraduates and graduates who are following and followed Applied Sciences during the final year of their academia. The ultimate goal of the society as well as this page is to form a network to reassemble the "Apps spirit" and to provide a place to share ideas, information, experiences, job opportunities and anything related. Nevertheless, this would be a platform that builds up a strong relationship between the undergraduates and the graduates of the Applied Sciences program, so that both the undergraduates and the industries in which the graduates of the Applied Sciences programe are employed build up a strong bonding.The Applied Science Degree Program was established in 2001 under the guidance of Prof. B. S. B. Karunarathne and has been coordinated by Prof. Namal Priyantha and Dr. Pubudu Samarasekara and at the present day, the Applied Sciences program is conducted under the Environmental and Industrial Department, Faculty of Science, University of Peradeniya. The head of the department is Dr. Buddhika Dassanayake and the degree program is coordinated by Dr. Rangeeka Perera. This Degree Program was created to meet the demand of the industrial sector of lacking graduates with suitable knowledge in industrial activities. So, the aim is "To produce a model science graduate to be competent to work in the industrial sector".This target is achieved by organizing and performing several activities such as industrial visits, workshops, industrial days and etc. along with the ongoing academic program. Advice, support and financial aid from the senior Applied Science students are really appreciated in making these events success. You are the source of encouragement and strength that can help us through inspiring, challenging and guiding. You all are welcome to share your opinions, suggestions on ongoing and upcoming events.
