Design - Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa
Locally sourced materials like palm tree raffia, branches, husks, leaves, sepia bone, clay, feathers, woods, jute, shells and raw cotton are used along with knotting and weaving techniques to create unique natural art pieces.Whether I am using raffia sourced from Madagascar's Palmyra palms or a seashell picked up at my local beach in Blouberg, Cape Town, I find my inspiration in nature and the beautiful materials mother earth has discarded.I support local small businesses when sourcing many of my materials. My raw cotton range was developed while self-teaching the intricate knotting techniques of macrame. I have looked for more innovative ways to combine natural materials and the macrame knotting techniques. It has been very beneficial when designing and creating my nature art as well. Amazing what one can do when using only a few knots. My pieces compliment and complete any natural interior design theme.I hope to bring as much joy to those choosing my natural pieces as I enjoyed creating them. All my designs are made to order. Viewings and purchases can be arranged by appointment at my studio at West Beach Cottages, in Blouberg, Cape Town.
