Artzaad is a slow fashion clothing label that is introducing artisinal peace silk scarves.Slow Fashion is a representation of all the "sustainable", "eco", "green", and "ethical" fashion. It discourages the high impact on the environment and depletion of resources and encourages quality production and return greater value to garments. Choosing artisan products to support smaller businesses, fair trade and locally-made clothes.These scarves are made from 100% silk and come in a gorgeous selection of colors. The technique used to create these unique scarves is called Shibori, which is the method of dyeing cloth with a pattern, by binding, stitching, folding, twisting or compressing it.Artzaad uses ahimsa or non-violent silk, which is similar to conventionally cultivated silk, except, instead of stiffing or processing the cocoons with the heat to produce silk, the Ahimsa cocoons are all allowed to hatch and breed, and the silk is processed from the hatched cocoons.The collection: An honest attempt has been made to come up with high fashion scarves that are aesthetically pleasing at the same time delve into innovation done through exploration of patterns, techniques and colours.Each Artzaad scarf is meticulously handcrafted and dyed using low-impact dyes, meaning, they react fast and are permanent. Low-impact dyes have a more than average absorption rate. This means less water is required in our rinse process and less dye runs off in the water. Therefore, the dyes have a lower impact on the environment.
