Ask An Amazon is the brainchild of Dr. Chelsea Mikael Frazier (otherwise known as @Amazon_Scholar). As an E-learning hub, Ask An Amazon developed out of Dr. Frazier's work as a Black Feminist Eco-critic and her desire to share that work with curious and questioning folks within and outside the academy. It's no secret that our physical environments are sustaining more and more stress everyday. Many of us want to do our part in our professional and personal lives to help create more sustainable worlds, but aren't sure where to start. In her years of researching, writing about, and teaching the OGs of cultural commentary—Black feminist writers, activists, and artists—Dr. Frazier has found that in order to understand how to change our environments, we must first do A LOT of (un)learning in order to change ourselves. Dr. Frazier wanted to make tools to facilitate this (un)learning process accessible to a wider variety of people and thus Ask An Amazon was born!Ask An Amazon designs educational tools and curates community events that serve Black Feminist Fuel for Sustainable Futures. We're all struggling to find balance in the face of climate change. Ask An Amazon helps people create (rather than find) balance by providing a holistic mix of intellectual, spiritual, and creative educational experiences that everyone can use to heal ourselves, our communities, and our ecologies!
