Austin Boogie Crew Records (ABC) is an independent black owned record label specializing in modern funk. Since launching in 2014, they've released 16 projects by 15 different artists, and moved 10,000 vinyl records in the process.The artists highlighted on ABC take inspiration from 80's Boogie, creating Modern Funk that touches on R&B, Electronic, New Jack Swing, Street Soul, Beat Scene, & Rap notes.Along with their efforts as a label, Austin Boogie Crew has operated as a DJ collective for nearly a decade. The crew is comprised of DJs Chicken George, Chorizo Funk, Spence, Danbone, and Cyrus D.In 2011, founder Danny Spence launched The Boogie in Austin, a monthly dance party highlighting 80's funk. A decade later The Boogie is still going strong, expanding to Los Angeles in 2017 while bringing in guests like Cut Chemist and DJ Rhettmatic. The Austin night is currently held at Nickel City on second Saturdays. Los Angeles branch will be relaunching in 2022.ABC is performing at Austin City Limits 2021 and has provided opening support for acts like Tuxedo, Dâm-Funk, and George Clinton.
