The Student Hip-Hop Organization (SHHO) at the University of North Carolina is a cultural movement that celebrates life through the ideals of individualism, creativity, and camaraderie of hip-hop culture. Through exploring the art of hip hop we will analyze how the art affects society in the areas of politics, race relations, economics, and entertainment. The organization will seek to network local artists and create unity within the hip hop community. SHHO will serve as a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and their love for hip hop. Lastly, the organization will be a resource for UNC students to connect over the very popular and worldwide art of Hip Hop. Our logo, four interconnected hexagons, represents the core components of hip-hop: the DJ, the b-boy, the graffiti artist, and the MC.
