Art is powerful. It has the potential to connect us with deeper parts of ourselves and the world around us. The vision behind Awaken Studios is to use art as a means to awaken a deeper appreciation and curiosity for the stories within and around us.For me, art is a form of visual storytelling. I seek to render my experiences, feelings and hopes into paintings that resonate with others. Each painting is different but always captures a bit of my heart. They are abstract in nature because I believe that abstraction liberates us to most fully and purely encounter ourselves – how do I react? What do I feel? What does this make me think of? Awaken Studios was born out of the desire to share these stories, and to discover more of them.Art has always been an avenue of self-expression for me, allowing me to translate my emotions and convictions without words. Creating allows me to discover myself in the process itself and presents me an opportunity for individual healing and growth. I believe in the potential of art to offer something to everyone – both the creator and the receiver. Awaken Studios began with the blooming desire to share something raw and hopeful with others in order to encourage them. It started with me showing some friends the paintings under my bed and observing how the works could make them feel something, be it a little happier or more hopeful.
