Bassam Kasir, a New Yorker since 2005, was born in Baghdad and raised in South Carolina. He majored in finance at Clemson University and has since been working in accounting and marketing.\\At nine years old, Bassam snapped photos with his mom's polaroid every chance he got. As technology advanced, he moved away from such instant gratification but never strayed from his childhood passion. After years of experimenting with point-and-shoot, especially while traveling, he picked up a used Canon EOS Rebel DSLR and began taking classes at Photo Manhattan.\\Photography has become a creative outlet for Bassam, a means of personal expression and artistic documentation. His focus is on landscape, architecture and street photography.
