Media Production - Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
In this day and age where survival for indie filmmakers has become more difficult with current distribution company tactics, Black Mesa believes that the technology now exists to flip the business model of how things have been done in order that filmmakers realize their fair share of the proceeds from the beginning of the distribution journey. Black Mesa Entertainment is striving to reinvent the film distribution process through creating a true partnership with the filmmakers. These partnerships are built on a solid commitment with the filmmakers and a long-term business model. BME's primary platform is theatrical indie film distribution in the U.S. and Canada with other platforms to run simultaneously. Other platforms include: streaming, download, dvd and may include other non theatrical runs. The guiding leadership of Black Mesa is comprised of Joel Hulett, Chad Burris, and Jack Clark. Hulett is a retired entertainment attorney who is the principal owner of Dolphin Bay Films. Burris is also an entertainment attorney and head of Indion Entertainment Group, which has prominently guided five films to premieres at Sundance, and has assisted other production companies to qualify for the rebates and tax incentives in various states in order to fund their films. Clark is an executive in the energy industry and brings many business skills and innovative ideas to the distribution concept.
