Nonprofit Organization Management - Durham, North Carolina, United States
Bloom Durham is a non-profit organization creating female-led community gardens in underprivileged neighborhoods of Durham, North Carolina. We provide women and young girls in our communities with the opportunity and the resources to create community gardens that make a positive impact in their community. Our gardens not only beautify communities and serve as a resource in which to grow produce, but they are also opportunities for socioeconomic empowerment, leadership, and catharsis for the women of our community. In addition to our fully staffed Bloom Gardens programming, we believe that young girls deserve extra care and attention as they understand their identities. To support our girls, Bloom Durham conducts summer camps and workshops our communities. The Bloom curriculum, developed in partnership with InterAct of Wake County, takes an in intersectional approach to facilitating conversations around racism, feminism, and personal development. Bloom Gardens are not open to visitors. If you'd like to join the Bloom Durham community as a Bloom Garden or Bloom Summer Camp volunteer, please reach out to receive a Volunteer Intake Form.
