In partnership with the Jones family, CSF hosts the Bobby Jones Classic for CSF. to enjoy a day of golf with you and your friends, while we all celebrate the memory of golfer Bobby Jones. The event generates new awareness of Chiari malformation, syringomyelia, and related causes of paralysis. Jones was diagnosed with syringomyelia and spent the last twenty-five years of his life with progressive paralysis. This event provides unique opportunities to become immersed in the classic life, legend and sport of Bobby Jones at historically significant East Lake Golf Club, Jones' first home course. Players have the opportunity to meet Bob Jones IV, grandson of the legendary golfer; Sid Matthew, famed Jones historian and author of The Life and Times of Bobby Jones; and Charles Harrison, 9-time former Atlanta amateur golf champion and a member of the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame and Georgia Golf Hall of Fame. Players will also experience the thrill of playing Hole 11 at East Lake with specialty Hickory-shafted golf clubs, the same type of clubs that Bobby Jones carried during his remarkable 1930 "Grand Slam." The 2017 Bobby Jones Classic will also feature a fun opportunity to "play" a hole at St. Andrew's, another famed Jones course, via an incredible simulation experience at the Sunday evening reception.
