Food Production - Casale Monferrato, Piemonte, Italy
THE ORIGINSThe winemaking vocation of Tenuta Mandoletta, in the municipality of Casale Monferrato, dates back to the early 19th century. In that period, the vineyard was the distinctive feature of the estate, together with its historic park. In 1898 the estate was sold to a new owner, who transformed it completely. The surrounding vineyards were dug up and replaced by other crops.THE BONZANO FAMILY: TRADITION, COURAGE AND ECO-SUSTAINABILITYThe arrival of the Bonzano family in the early 1990s, brought with it important restoration work to bring back the historic gardens and later, the vineyards.Today la Mandoletta is an estate surrounded by a single block of 7 hectares of vineyards, set in the most typical landscape of Casale Monferrato. These places are dear to the hearts of the Bonzano family, as they represent their roots and are the source of inspiration for this winegrowing adventure, the work of brothers, Enrico, Stefano, and Massimo Bonzano, together with expert oenologist, Donato Lanati, and thanks to the inspiration and passion of Enrico's wife Simonetta Ghia and his daughter Francesca Bonzano.
