Brisbane Writers Festival brings a richly curated experience to Brisbane in May each year, as well as a year-round program of exciting events. We exist to grow Queensland's writing and reading communities through transformative cultural experiences that celebrate the literary arts and contribute to dynamic public conversation. Delight in the books and writers you love, and discover new ones, as you share in conversations ranging from fiction to politics, science to sport and everything in between. Join in fervent discussions and ardent exchanges of ideas. Festival highlights include Panel discussions, remarkable and thought-provoking presentations and reflections of the times in which we live, Love YA, our dedicated young adult fiction program and "Word Play" an engaging four-day schools event prior to BWF.You can indulge your inner wordsmith at Masterclasses and, at the end of the day, relax with a drink in the Festival Hub on GOMA's Maiwar Green to the soulful strains of singer/songwriters and bands.Held in partnership with State Library of Queensland - the home of Brisbane Writers Festival. Brisbane Writers Festival will celebrate its 60th Anniversary in 2022.
