From poetry to politics, fiction to food, history to hip-hop and comedy to current affairs, Cambridge Literary Festival brings an eclectic mix of today's best writers, thinkers and speakers from around the world to Cambridge all year round.Established in 2003 as "Wordfest" before re-branding as Cambridge Literary Festival and becoming a registered charity in 2014. We deliver two literary festivals each year: Spring Festival in April and our Winter Festival in November. In addition to two major annual festivals, we host one-off events to celebrate new publications with authors and artists such as Patti Smith, Graham Norton, Zadie Smith, Salman Rushdie and Colm Tóibín. We host international authors visiting the UK such as Margaret Atwood, Svetlana Alexievich, Attica Locke and Tayari Jones.Our aims and objectives are for the advancement of education for the benefit of the public by the promotion of literature, language and the arts through our literary festivals in Cambridge.
