Established in 1955, Miakonda offers summer outdoor recreation experiences for young women in an unparalleled setting. Tucked away on a large private island on Lake WahWashKesh in the heart of the Canadian Shield, Miakonda provides a safe and supportive space for girls to grow and mature, feeling valued, confident and capable. Girls from around the world participate in the summer-based programs, learning cooperation, independence, leadership and an appreciation for their natural surroundings. Miakonda is a member of the Canadian Camping Association and is fully accredited through the Ontario Camping Association, exceeding the annual standards established for Programming, Healthcare, Staffing and more.
