Canstruction® New York is a 501(c)3 non-profit food charity, which organizes an annual design/build competition showcasing the talents of design and construction industry professionals and students they mentor. Teams can spend months planning their structure but only have overnight to build fantastic sculptures from thousands of whole cans of food. These structures will change lives – by lifting the spirits of those in need, by raising public awareness, and most importantly, by filling the shelves of our beneficiary, City Harvest, which will distribute to their network of food banks and pantries throughout NYC. The structures are judged in a variety of categories as this unconventional art exhibit is open to the public, the cost of admission – just one can of food.
