CanYouth Details
Featuring hundreds of public articles, CanYouth is an online forum where students can write and share their ideas. The website serves as a open platform for students to express themselves on a wide variety of topics, from education, politics and to just life as a teenager. CanYouth was built to serve York Region students in 2011. We are partnered with the York Region Presidents' Council and supported by the York Region District School Board. Although its framework is rooted in York Region, Ontario, CanYouth welcomes students from across Canada to join our community. Youth apathy is nothing but a stereotype. The broader impact of this organization has been the message that student voice needs to be made accessible and inclusive of all pupils. Policy-makers need to recognize that today's youth are more comfortable expressing themselves on social media. At CanYouth, we leverage social media for our content on canyouth.ca, and effectively publicize youth ideas. CanYouth is proving the stereotype of youth apathy wrong.
