The Case Method Institute for Education and Democracy works with high school teachers nationwide to deliver a rigorous and engaging educational experience by bringing cases from the acclaimed Harvard course, "History of American Democracy," into U.S. history, government, and civics classrooms. By introducing the case method to secondary schools, the Institute (formerly the Case Method Project at Harvard Business School) enables high school students to train for active citizenship in the same way MBA and JD candidates train for leadership in business and law. Led by Harvard Business School Professor David Moss, the Institute has reached over 50,000 high school students nationwide since 2015 and has seen powerful results across the full spectrum of schools and classrooms, including improvements in students' critical thinking, their retention and understanding of course material, and—perhaps most striking of all—their civic interest, knowledge, and engagement.
