In 1962, sweeping views of the Napa Valley charmed our grandfather Caspar Escher into purchasing land in the Mayacamas Mountain range above the Rutherford bench. Together, with our grandmother Virginia Crowley Escher, they created a rustic getaway from their busy, city lives in San Francisco. The passing of our grandfather inspired us to preserve his legacy. We diligently rekindled our dormant grove of century old, mission olive trees and enriched the land with fruit trees, a garden, bee hives and an idyllic vineyard. Atop those rocky, hillside soils, we organically farm 13 planted acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petite Verdot vines. We are blessed with the rich terroir to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Wildflower Honey all from our estate. Every harvest we experience the humble purity of our family's land. It is now our pleasure to invite you to share it with us.Caspar Estate wines express the unique terroir of the land, with firm tannins, fresh acidity, and remarkable structure. With 200-300 cases produced annually, Caspar Estate wine is offered by Allocation only.
