Nonprofit Organization Management - Cathedral City, California, United States
Cathedral City Senior Center (CCSC) is a Cathedral City-based nonprofit devoted to providing opportunities for older adults, valley-wide, to:keep active minds and bodies, stay connected to their community, experience quality of life, build a support network of friends and service providers, and improve their health.Active, connected seniors stay independent longer, while aging within our community.CCSC is led by professional staff, committed volunteers, active members, generous donors, a supportive community, including the City of Cathedral City, and by our dedicated board of directors. In 2022, CCSC is focusing resources on expanding CCSC's winning formula of providing food, friends, fun, and help in its warm, friendly, welcoming environment. CCSC's strategic priorities over the next three years are to 1) diversify programming and membership and 2) explore expanded space options to accommodate our growth.Through the Edmundo and Herlinda Carrillo Equity in Aging Initiative, we will create a 21st-century, sustainable, multigenerational community center for active living that will serve our diverse community. One hallmark of a great city is its support of lifelong residency. An ideal community should prioritize retaining and supporting a range of ages and supporting a better quality of life. In an age-diverse community, parents, children, and grandparents who live near each other often build deeper relationships and provide more effective support than is possible for more geographically scattered families. Cathedral City is committed to retaining residents as they age, which is good for the city and its residents socially and financially.
