Research - Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil
The Center for Studies in Natural Resources (CERNA) was created in 2016, arising from the need to identify and concentrate the installed capacity in research within the State University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UEMS), to optimize research skills and involve human resources and financial resources that could be managed more efficiently.CERNA / UEMS currently consists of twelve laboratories distributed in two laboratory sets (CL1 and CL2). CL1 is composed of multi-user laboratories with activities involving researchers in the areas of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and CL2 is composed of the Biology, Ecology, Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry Laboratories. In addition to the built structure, CERNA / UEMS has a range of equipment for research that places it prominently in the State scenario, given the diversity and technological quality of its analysis instruments. Most of the research developed is of an interdisciplinary nature, mainly due to the diversity of training of its researchers. These are projects that aim to train human resources at different levels. In addition to the Undergraduate Courses in Physics, Physical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biological Sciences and Environmental and Sanitary Engineering, CERNA researchers also work in the training of masters and doctors through their Postgraduate Program in Natural Resources (PGRN) .
