Sports - Burntwood, England, United Kingdom
We are a non-league club at the heart of the community we serve, Chasetown and the wider area of Burntwood, Staffordshire, England.Amongst providing youth and grassroots football for all ages with an inclusive attitude to bring the beautiful game to everyone, we also have a senior first team, who currently ply their trade in the Northern Premier League Division 1 South & East, sitting at Step 8 of the English football league system.A majority of our club aside from first team players and staff are volunteers, the lifeblood of our club and the wider non-league and grassroots scene in the country. We occasionally are looking for additional help and will post such openings on here, however please contact the club if you would like to help support us, whether through business sponsorship, volunteering or simply visiting us at your leisure on gameday. The club has a proud history, stretching back to 1954 when we were formed from a school leavers football team, hence our nickname 'the Scholars,' and we are perhaps most famous for our FA Cup exploits as giantkillers back in 2005/06, taking Oldham Athletic to replay while we were at Step 9 of the pyramid, and again most famously in 2007/08 when in beating Port Vale, we became the lowest ranked club ever to appear in the 3rd Round Proper of the FA Cup, eventually losing out finalists Cardiff City 1-3 at the Scholars Ground. With multiple local county cup wins, promotions, play-off wins and runs in the FA Trophy, there is a strong pedigree to push on and achieve these feats again.
