The Chicago Trustee Collaboratory serves as a resource for practical wisdom to help families benefit the most from their trusts. We help families directly and also by helping their trustees and trusted advisors. Our mission is to help families flourish. We do that by articulating, advancing and implementing best practices and practical wisdom for trust administration. Our approach is focused on ongoing peer-to-peer discussions, trainings and on-line content. Our vision is to be the leading resource for trustee knowledge. We develop and produce content in various forms - such as video's, written articles, and blogs. We also curate the content of others. All to collect the wisdom families - and their trustees and advisors need. We are professionals and family members, trustees and trusted advisorswho come together because of our common interest in helping families. For non-members: We offer a wealth of resources for families, trustees, and allied professionals. These resources include a wide range of free resources on this website. We also welcome visits to our monthly meetings. Whether a trustee, an allied professional, family member or other interested party, the Collaboratory welcomes all those who engage in a serious discussion about trusts. Currently, the Collaboratory sponsors two chapters: one in Chicago's downtown Loop, the other in suburban Chicago. The idea evolved out of drop-in lunches and grew into a more formal structure in September, 2011.Inspired by the cutting edge idea generation and sharing by John A. Warnick and the Purposeful Planning Institute, the Collaboratory sought to fill the gap of on-going person-to-person collaboration. To the few who are interested and qualify as members, we offer a unique set of educational, professional and business benefits to our members to collaborate, to share, to develop and to practice this knowledge.
