Civic & Social Organization - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States
Childspace Cooperative Development, Inc. (Childspace CDI) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works primarily with women of color in inner city Philadelphia and the greater Philadelphia region to improve both the quality of jobs and the quality of care in the early childhood education field. Our staff seeks to empower early childhood education providers, teachers, and parents in need to speak out on behalf of their field through advocacy and grassroots organizing. In addition, Childspace CDI offers training, workshops, and mentorships to help child care professionals expand their childcare businesses to increase the quality of care they offer to children and families, and to learn ways to be financially independent and secure - no matter what their budget. Childspace CDI aims to see every child in Philadelphia have access to high quality care that will set them on the path to a greater future regardless of their socioeconomic background, and to provide that care in part by improving the working conditions of Philadelphia's early childhood educators.
