According to the United Nations, globally, 795 million people are living without access to enough food to live a healthy life and 1.2 billion people have no access to electricity, with 1 billion more having access only to unreliable electricity networks. Nearly 3 billion people rely on traditional biomass (such as wood and charcoal) for cooking and heating.Our mission and vision is simple. We aim to empower individuals, transform communities and grow a stronger planet.The lack of reliable energy restrains food security efforts, income-generating activities and hinders the delivery of basic services such as health care and education. In addition, inefficient cooking, lighting, and heating devices kills an estimated 4 million people a year and causes other negative health impacts. These emissions are also important drivers of climate change and local environmental degradation. To help meet this need, CIC-Global has created NopalPower™. NopalPower™ creates biofuel and organic fertilizer from nopal (prickly pear cactus) biomass. The complete NopalPower™ program also provides participating farmer partners with a share of revenue, food for human consumption, animal fodder and numerous other byproducts. CIC-Global also offers best-in-class waste-to-energy, wastewater treatment through electrocoagulation, tire processing and affordable home solutions that help lift individuals in emerging countries out of poverty and a cycle of dependency.
