The City of Oaks Foundation's vision is an environmentally vibrant Raleigh whose citizens take pleasure in the City's natural resources and appreciate nature's role in improving our lives. Our mission is to conserve natural areas for Raleigh's citizens and visitors using non-confrontational, collaborative approaches to acquire land; and to sponsor efforts that move people to explore Raleigh's natural and cultural resources.The Foundation is a charitable organization established in December 2010 to benefit the people of Raleigh in two areas that, until now, were inadequately served.The Foundation maintains two programs to achieve its mission."Give Play" Initiative:• Carry out an annual campaign for need-based program scholarship funds.• Working closely with Raleigh Parks Recreation and Cultural Resources Department staff, identify programming needs suitable for private fundraising."Raleigh, Naturally" Land Trust:• Acquire from willing landowners natural land important to the City.• Partner with the City on long-term management of conserved lands.
