Civic Action LINGUA (Serbian: Gradjanska akcija LINGVA) is a non-partie, non-profitable organization intended for promotion end protection of human rights, spreading the idea of civic society, struggling for democratization of the system, struggling against corruption, education of the young to understand how the law, politics and public life affect them.LINGUA was established in Kraljevo, Serbia, on January 1997 during citizen's protests against a repressive, totalitarian Milosevic's regime. Founder and Director of LINGUA is Radovan Milicevic, from the beginning of the nineties - till today, a famous Serbian human rights activist. With Belgrade Center for Human Rights we emerged as an organization (Forum NGOs - Kraljevo) through a number of activities aimed at sensitizing population on issues of democracy and tolerance during the height of Milosevic's regime. Since November 1999 owing to their large scope of activities, LINGUA has been the implementing partner to Norwegian Peoples' Aid, as well as to CCFD-Terre Solidaire, Olof Palmes Centrum, Hellenic Development Network "European Perspective"... in releasing all the projects aimed to protect human rights of vulnerable people (youth, children, women, elderly, IDPs, refugees, local, Roma people..) through economic development, legal aid, humanitarian aid, health care, psycho-social assistance, youth information through most visited web site in SEE (Imagine Serbia), anti corruption campaign, volunteering center, founding new NGOs, advocacy...in Central Serbia.In the democratization and transition process we make efforts to help those citizens who were impoverish in the processes mentioned. Having identified and addressed the most current problems of the society, such as high unemployment rates, poverty, corruption...we try to support citizens to solve the key problems. We are sure this is an adequate way of creating the preconditions for initiation and development of social responsibility society.
