CleanConscience is a unique charity that assists UK hotels, restaurants, pubs, and offices to deal with challenging waste streams, like redundant or surplus office furniture, mattresses, linen, bedding, curtains, furniture, mirrors, framed pictures, small electrical equipment, etc. Items that are salvaged are donated to the other charities we support, or offered back to the public in exchange for a donation to support our own charity funds. Due to being a grassroots organisation, working closely with many other grassroots organisations, we are well placed to act as a ‘matchmaker' between businesses and smaller less ‘mobile' charities, and we thrive on solving any challenge that is presented to us.Over the years we have supported 33 other community organisations and registered charities in the UK, one charity in Sierra Leone, and six charities in Lithuania.We have assisted the businesses that needed our help with diverting more than 5,500 tonnes of items, that still had a resource value, from being landfilled or incinerated. We prepare an Impact Report on each project, which will show the following metrics:• CO2e (kg) saved from entering the atmosphere• Waste (kg) saved from going to landfill of being incinerated • Waste costs (£) saved• Donated (£) to charity• Equivalent jobs saved The great thing about this is that the client will be able to claim a rebate of 19% on their Corporation Tax, against the value of the donated items, which makes our service cost neutral and the ROI a win win win win for everyone involved.
