College Torch is the initiative of Robert Powers, who graduated from Johns Hopkins and is now a college counselor and classroom teacher in L.A. County.In grades 6-11, the College Torch college counseling program guides students to develop authentically into future college applicants: Students challenge themselves inside and outside the classroom, discover what matters to them, and take actions that align with their goals, priorities, and personal values. In January of students' junior year of high school, College Torch guides them through their college application season, embracing a strategic mindset while prioritizing authenticity and personal values.When students submit their applications with College Torch, they breathe easy knowing they did everything they could to showcase their best selves to their dream schools.
