Winery/Brewery - Wamboin, NSW, AU
The most loved brands are unique and authentic. With a name like Contentious Character, we've created the opportunity for ourselves to be both. So the question is, how do we live up to our name?Do we bring an anti-establishment approach to winemaking, with controversial techniques and flavour? Perhaps one day, but we're relatively new to the game, so for now the focus will be on conventional, high quality winemaking.Does it mean we'll appeal only to the anti-establishment, the controversial and the argumentative? We'd certainly gain notoriety quickly, but we're a commercial business, and we want broader appeal than that. Everyone's welcome. So for us, contention comes by encouraging debate amongst our customers, be it over a bottle or at our cellar door. Because nothing encourages conversation more than a table of friends and a few good bottles of wine. We stand for lively discussion, passionate opinions, and welcoming a different point of view. Contentious Character encourages an alternate perspective through asking the controversial questions and providing a platform for debate, whether it's a suggested topic of conversation on our bottle label or it's a program of events at our cellar door. Never divisive, Contentious Character exists to build a lively community of passionate people ever-willing to take on an alternate way of thinking.
