Cool Beyond Zero is the corporate umbrella that overarches the international collaborative rock band Cool Beyond Zero. The band were formed in 2008 at the request of Mark Traynor (Ontario - Canada) via the musical collaborative site www.musicianscollaboration.com, when he asked Steve McAndrew (Linlithgow - Scotland) to join him on lyrics/vocals, Todd Vierra (Alaska - USA) to join him on drums, Jay Schankman (Oregon - USA) to join him on keys and George Williams (Scarborough - England) to join him on guitar. Marc was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer very shortly afterwards and with this as a catalyst, literally exploded in his creative musical output, often writing 3 songs a week! The band struggled to keep up with him, an early casualty being George, who simply found the pace too torrid and therefore left. Steve then adopted additional guitar duties and also started contributing additional songs to the catalogue and the remaining four members continued to work on apace towards the completion of the material on hand. Although Marc's health saw little deterioration for around two years, it did eventually do so and unfortunately Marc's lost his brave fight in March 2010, when he finally became a victim of his illness. The band went into a dark 7 months, but ultimately returned to their quest of realising his legacy and setting about making his creative efforts available for the public to hear on their debut album When Mother Time Is On Your Side at www.cdbaby.com.
