Cornerstone Remedial School Details
Cornerstone is a remedial school designed to help children from all walks of life that not only need individual attention, but also a "normal" schooling environment. For this reason Cornerstone Remedial School takes a maximum of 10 students at a time per class, who are taught by a qualified educator. We are registered with the Department of Education and follow a CAPS curriculum, which we adjust to a remedial focus and each child's individual needs.Cornerstone will take learners from Grade R – 7. we have also introduced a Developmental unit for our learners with higher needs.It is vital that children have interaction with other kids, so as to learn life's social interactions but that being said, the class is kept to a minimum size so as to still be able to give one-on-one attention to each child in the class.Furthermore, Cornerstone Remedial School also acts as a homework centre (for all grades) to facilitate and help children and youth with their school work and provide extra lessons in a variety of subjects. The homework centre runs from 14:30 until 17:00 Monday to Friday. As well as a school aftercare program. Cornerstone's homework centre and after care program has a variety of resources at the child's disposal thus encouraging active learning.
