A few years ago, when his first amateur rider went pro, Rock River Yamaha dealer and racing team owner Mike Duclos saw the need for a stepping stone program that would help carry his amateur riders through a successful transition into the professional ranks. In 2009, the original Rock River supercross/motocross professional team was formed. In 2010 the Rock River Yamaha racing team proudly expanded their relationship with the Yamaha Factory Racing program to offer trackside support using genuine Yamaha factory parts and accessories to every Yamaha racer in the pro pits at all seventeen rounds of the Monster Energy Supercross series, as well as twelve rounds of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross series. In November 2013, CycleTrader.com, the nation's largest powersports marketplace, announced they will join the Rock River Powersports as the title sponsor for their Yamaha supercross & motocross racing team. The underlying foundation of the CycleTrader.com Rock River Yamaha racing team is to provide amateur riders a place where they could learn the skills necessary to earn a place with an established factory racing team. This partnership gives CycleTrader.com a stronger presence in the supercross and motocross worlds while providing the Rock River team with the resources to help pro and amateur riders as they compete nationwide. The CycleTrader.com Rock River Yamaha racing team is a true group effort, supported by volunteers with a true passion and love for the sport. All racing team members are non-salaried and all riders personally pay their own way for transportation and travel. The CycleTrader.com Rock River Yamaha motocross racing team offers its riders professional race day promotions, as well as the opportunity for the kind of recognition that could lead to a higher level of visibility and support within the racing industry.
