Dailyplaces (www.dailyplaces.net) has been under development by Andreas Ebert and three other founders in Frankfurt am Main since July 2009 and went live in December of 2009. Among the numerous social networks, Dailyplaces occupies the niche for location-based real time communication that is not covered by existing services. Dailyplaces allows both private users and organizations as well as companies to engage in location-based, real time communication. Users save certain locations as points of interest (POI) and tag them with a message. These POIs are then displayed on an automatically generated user website, which may be designed according to individual preferences. In addition, members may search for other POIs in the vicinity and tag existing POIs with status updates. The iPhone application is available for free download in the App Store ("dailyplaces").
