Information Technology and Services - City of Whitehorse, Victoria, Australia
Deakin Information Security Club (DISC) is a University-based, student-run club which works to advance Deakin University student's skillsets, in penetration testing, ethical hacking, and defending against it; through in-house training and sponsored training sessions. We aim to be able to provide services to compliment our members' varying degrees, to become more employable and sought after. Our members are regular attendees to security conferences such as BSidesCanberra, AppSecDay and CrikeyCon Brisbane, where we recognise the importance of networking and practical application, and encourage and inform fellow members of their significance. Aditionally, we connect with other societies in Melbourne on a monthly basis, through meet-ups such as SecTalks, RuxMon and AllSec.We also organise weekly talks, presentations and workshops at the University for our members to attend, with the occasional industry speaker. We are a collaborative club and accept all members, undergraduate to postgraduate. Catering our content to suit the needs of members, from beginner level onwards.
