There are various reasons to explicitly focus on moral and social values in design and innovation processes:(1) Mitigation of value failures of design(2) Embodiment of values in design(3) Generation of values through designThe Delft Design for Values (DDfV) Institute is a virtual institute in which four Faculties or Schools of Delft University of Technology participate. It serves as a portal and booster for design for values research, education, outreach and co-creation at Delft University of Technology. It aims at(1) making visible and accessible what TU Delft has to offer,(2) promoting internal and external collaborations, and(3) advancing knowledge, methods & best practicesin the area of design for values. It does so by undertaking activities in the areas of knowledge exchange, international collaboration, research, education, valorisation & co-creation, and outreach.
