Design for X is a student-run team from the University of Toronto that was founded based on our desire as young engineers to gain experiential knowledge in the field of product design and user research. Our mission is to conduct rigorous, iterative testing and research, which, coupled with our theoretical and academic knowledge, will enable us to help you make well informed product decisions. Based on our past experiences with companies, we have often found that limited time and resources lead to decisions being made based on intuition, rather than user research. This is understandable, particularly in the fast paced world of tech companies. However, we see research as a necessary investment for making good decisions. Therefore, the collaborative project we work on with your company is a two-way learning process, bringing the fresh eyes and innovative ideas of the students on our team together with the years of experience and in-depth knowledge of the individuals working in your company, such that we can share ideas and information with one another and grow together.
