We provided technical and innovative solutions to numerous contaminated and mine site assessments for large industrial, mining, urban and commercial projects in Canada, the United States, South America, and Africa.Over the last many years, we have been working on various aspects of environmental investigations, impact/risk assessments, and groundwater remediation projects. Our practical consulting and research assignments have included:• Develop and review numerical and analytical groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling (using MODFLOW/MT3D/RT3D, Bioscreen, Flowpath) to evaluate dewatering requirements, seepage analyses, and contaminant transport to inform water quality effects, effectiveness of mitigation measures, remedial option analyses; • Environmental Impact Assessment: Review and provide advice on environmental effects of several open pit and underground mines on water quality, fish and fish habitats; provide critical review of hydrogeology, geochemistry, ML/ARD to assess cumulative effects, and evaluate effectiveness of mitigation plan• Develop work plans to characterize mineralogy, geochemistry, potential for acid rock drainage and metal leaching (ML/ARD) properties of tailings management facilities, waste rock storage facilities, backfilled pits, collection ponds, and diversion channels;• Design and implement groundwater monitoring plans, aquifer characterization, hydraulic conductivity assessments, groundwater/surface water interactions
