Dirigo Solar is a Maine-based developer of utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) power plants, with over 200 MWac under development throughout the state. Dirigo's mission is to leverage technology cost reductions to lower the cost of power for Maine homeowners and businesses, with locally generated, clean energy. In 2015, Dirigo was awarded a contract by the Maine Public Utilities Commission, for up to 79 MWac of distributed solar projects in either Central Maine Power or Emera Maine service territories. The Commission determined that Dirigo's portfolio will save Maine ratepayers between $3MM to $26MM over the length of the contract. In 2016, Dirigo partnered with BNRG Renewables Limited, an international developer of solar projects based in Dublin, Ireland, to build, own, and operate the portfolio.Dirigo continues to expand its development pipeline with projects ranging in size from 1MW to 80MW.
