In 2019, the Presidents of the Ford and Robert Wood Johnson Foundations convened 16 foundation presidents to make a five year commitment to work together as the Presidents' Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy. Each foundation is at a different stage of its learning journey toward greater inclusion of people with disabilities both internally and in grantmaking, and all are committed to share our learning. The focus of the Council's collective action is the philanthropic sector, but our aspiration is that as our sector becomes more equitable, we will influence society to dismantle structural ableism and move toward equity. As part of this work, we are proud to bring you the Disability & Philanthropy Forum, a hub for learning brought to you by the Presidents' Council on Disability Inclusion in Philanthropy. Our mission is to provide the resources and guidance that philanthropy needs to support an active, ongoing learning journey about how to foster truly equitable disability inclusion–both through internal operations and grantmaking.
