Don Bosco Yuva Sanstha Karjat is a registered trust that runs a technical training institute to train poor underprivileged youth in skills of fabrication, turning, fitting welding, and air-condition repairs for free.This project, providing psycho spiritual help, was started at the property for the street children from Don Bosco Shelter, Wadala. The understanding behind the project was that when youngsters live in difficult situations, whether it be on the streets, tribal areas, slums, or in poverty, they go through a tremendous amount of negative experiences while growing up. This hampers their growth, and when they carry these negative experiences into adulthood they find it difficult to cope up with life and its opportunities. It was felt that before they are sent for formal, informal, or vocational training their inner self needs to be addressed. 600 underprivileged youths have been trained and 92% of them have been placed with well known organisations.
