The Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta (DSAA) is a non-profit corporation licensed in the State of Georgia and operates under written Bylaws to provide education, awareness, support, and advocacy to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Much of the work of the organization is done by members and volunteers. DSAA is funded by member dues, donations, grants, memorial gifts, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising. The major fundraising event is the annual Buddy Walk® Atlanta held annually in October. The DSAA serves the Metro-Atlanta area, which includes the following counties: Fulton, Dekalb, Cobb, Clayton, Fayette, Coweta, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Cherokee, Rockdale, Henry, Newton, Troup, Douglas, Oconee, Spalding, Paulding and Floyd. Membership dues are $25 paid on an annual basis and new families are free for the first year. Membership is for all individuals living in a household. DSAA welcomes anyone interested in Down syndrome to be a member (professionals, grandparents, extended family members, etc.).
