The Freddi series is for children from the ages of 3 to 7 years old. These books have been designed to help children to read and to be used as bedtime stories. The animation and the interactivity have been deliberately designed for the child to focus on reading. Interactive story ‘Freddi's First Day Out', aimed at children aged three to seven, brings the charm of an old-fashioned bedtime tale from the traditional pop-up book format to the modern convenience of the tablet screen.This modern take on the traditional story book format has interactive animations, sound effects, a sea shanty musical theme and optional narration. In the narration option, the words on the page are highlighted as they are read, showing how the story progresses through the text. Children can then touch any word on the screen to hear it read individually. The animations, meanwhile, have been especially designed to maintain youngsters' attention without distracting them from the tale.
