Eat Local Cumberland (ELC) is a nonprofit organization that supports local food initiatives in Cumberland County, Nova Scotia. We aim to build food security and food literacy. ELC partners with local food and beverage producers, nonprofit organizations, businesses, government, community members and volunteers to enhance local food in Cumberland County. ELC supports the Waste Not, Want Not (WNWN) initiative that aims to reduce food waste in Cumberland County through gleaning of local fields.Our website allows consumers to easily locate local food and beverages within Cumberland County. Our blogs and videos showcase local food and beverage producers listed on our website to develop connectivity between consumers and producers.
