EcoFarms™ is a family-run business based in Manchester, Jamaica. The founder, an MIT-graduate Engineer, identified a need in the market to produce innovative honey products in an environmentally-sustainable manner while creating employment. Staff beekeepers strategically position the bees in remote areas near orchards of coffee, logwood, orange, flowering trees and crops in Manchester and St. Elizabeth. The primary apiary is located on the family farm in Balaclava. Organic-quality honey and other products of the hives are transported from these apiaries the Jamaica Bureau of Standard (BSJ) certified home-based factory in Mandeville. In the factory, the honey and hive products are used as the main raw material for a series of products. These products include Buzz™ Honey Wine (mead), HoneyStix™, flavoured honeys (Honey Cubes), bee pollen and beeswax candles.
