The Edward Wilson Estate is Australia's oldest Philanthropic Institution. It was established in 1878 upon the death of Edward Wilson, the original proprietor of The Argus Newspaper. His Will decreed that income from his shares in the Argus be distributed among Victorian charitable institutions.Today, the Trustee's of his estate continue this tradition in making grants and donations to causes that will directly benefit the community of Victoria.
